How To Segment Your Email List by ISP with Salesforce Marketing Cloud

If you manage an email marketing program, you know deliverability is a serious concern.

Having your messages flagged as spam hurts your relationship with your subscribers. Worse, it can cause a chain reaction that ends with your program being effectively shut down.

You probably also know that some Internet Service Providers are more activist than others.

For example, let's talk about - well, since I'm saying they're pretty terrible, let's not call them by name - let's just use their initials. So, there is an Internet Service Provider I'm going to call "AOL."

This "AOL" is known to average the amount of mail you send over a five-day period. If it senses a spike in email volume, the extra emails are automatically flagged as spam. So if you're a typical mid-sized business who sends a weekly newsletter, this policy means that AOL flags your newsletters as spam every. Single. Week.

You've really got to do something about that.
